LIVE IN CONCERT AT SXSW 2010
Violinist Omar Lopez is presenting his SXSW showcase at Texenza Coffee under the Frost Bank Tower (4th and Congress) on Thursday, March 18th at 7:30 PM. "ONE NIGHT OF HOPE" - OMAR'S FIRST PERFORMANCE OF 2010 TO BENEFIT CENTRAL TEXAS HOMELESS VETERANS
Violinist Omar Lopez will once again be a featured solo artist for ONE NIGHT OF HOPE" at Shoreline Christian Center on Friday, February 19th and will unveil three songs from his new album, including "Synergy", the first single off of his upcoming third album. Tickets are $5.00 per person.

OMAR JOINS EMMY AWARD-WINNING GUITARIST AND COMPOSER BENISE'S "NIGHTS OF FIRE" IN LEBANON
After a successful Holiday-themed concert at Central Presbyterian Church on Friday, December 4th, Omar and his team received a phone call from superstar guitarist and composer BENISE to tour with him and his international cast of musicians and dancers at the Casino du Liban in Lebanon for a three-week engagement of Benise's "NIGHTS OF FIRE" stage show. The musical, which combines Benise's romantic Spanish flamenco guitar with Cuban salsa, Brazilian samba, and African tribal chants and rhythms, won an Emmy in costume design after its premiere on PBS in 2005. For Omar, this opportunity comes as an honor, since these performances will feature him in place of his mentor and inspiration - violinist Karen Briggs, more widely known as "the Lady in Red" who toured with world-renowned contemporary instrumental keyboardist and composer YANNI for thirteen years before joining Benise's organization in 2005. "Karen is the reason I didn't quit playing in high school," Omar says. "I saw her in (Yanni's) 'Live at the Acropolis' on PBS in 1994 and said 'This is what I want to do for the rest of my life.'" With a chance to share the stage of Lebanon's most famous casino with a world-class performer like Benise, Omar Lopez may finally get his wish.
